Prayer

One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night. At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles.
—Luke 6:12-13 NLT

I often say that if faith without works is dead then works without faith is probably handicap. When something is important to a person, they do not leave it up to chance or happenstance to determine the outcome of what will happen with it. Instead, we must put intention behind the results we wish to see—using prayer as the vehicle to help make decisions based on facts and truths we may not be aware of.

Prayer is like the spiritual equivalent of giving one’s life a mission statement or a vision board. You may not know how exactly the things you pray for will manifest. However, prayer places direction and intention behind the desires you wish to see come to fruition. For those who pray in faith (believing what they are praying for will happen), life has a tendency of leading them in the direction(s) of those things they have placed their intentions behind.

Who or what are you praying for? Are you praying over you life purpose, your family, your friends, your health, things outside your control, your finances, your decision making, and the details of your life? Pray about everything. Complain about nothing. Pray that God will guide your footsteps, thoughts, and especially your words. Pray for wisdom, direction, protection, and supernatural favor. The Bible says in James 5:16 that “the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
